Hanging and trailing houseplants make great aesthetic decor pieces for the home. These are a few of our favorite choices.
If you have a good space near a bright window, or a corner that needs filling. A hanging plant is a great decor option. Plants have become incredibly trendy and popular over the last few years. They provide many wonderful benefits for your home.
A few tips to keep your trailing plants long and lush
Make sure you have proper lighting available for your plant. Trailing plants tend to get leggy and grow leaves far apart in poor lighting. This can make your vine look thin and raggedy. To encourage a full and lush vining plant, make sure it has enough light.
Grow plant in a proper sized hanging planter. Make sure that the planter you choose is deep enough for the roots and not too large for the size of the plant. Many people use pots that are too big for the plant thinking it will fill in. This is a risky practice and your plant could get root rot or damage from uneven soil saturation. Always size up to a pot an inch or two bigger than it’s previous pot.
Make sure your beautiful hanging planter has drainage holes. It’s tempting to skimp on drainage holes for hanging pots, but don’t do it! The plants still need to be supplied with proper drainage. Watering hanging plants can be a bit more of a task. But take the time to do it properly and you will be rewarded with big beautiful plants.
There are tons of beautiful and easy options for hanging and trailing plants. Most of the plants on this list are suitable for everyone from a beginner to an advanced plant parent.
